It’s National Hot Chocolate Day, what to order next, and more!
1/31: National Hot Chocolate Day
Next Monday is National Hot Chocolate Day, but we’ll be celebrating all week! Pick up some pillowy, cloudlike marshmallows from Sweet Lydia’s in our retail section or one of their delicious hot chocolates. We have flavors like Peppermint and White Chocolate to make your hot chocolate extra delicious.
Want to spice up your hot chocolate? Hot tip: you can ask for any of our coffee syrups to be added into your hot choc (like hazelnut, caramel, or maple cinnamon!) for a super special cozy beverage.
What's cooler than wine from an active volcano? Sicily's Mt. Etna and its wines are on the tip of every ones tongue in wine world, exhalting its virtues - as recent Burgundy vintages struggle under the effects of climate change (this is a worthwhile diversion!) This is the type of old world wine that commands big bucks - big structure, waves of complexity, just-ripe fruit and restraint being emphasized over power. This is all due to Etna's mineral- rich volcanic soil, and the complex scope of flavors from its main grape Nerello Mascalese.
No name is more recognizable in the appellation than Girolamo Russo, who's vintages, when announced cause ripples of excitement for buyers and enthusiasts. This is wine for Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo (the famed grape of Barolo) lovers. a'Rina is his entry-level (and most handsomely priced) wine from his younger vines - although some of the fruit comes from vines dating back over 100 years.
All certified organically grown. Layers of earthy volcanic minerality and exotic spices lie beneath lifted cranberry and cherry fruit, all on a linear palate bursting with bright acidity. Serve slightly chilled!
