One thing that has taken off in popularity in the past few years is charcuterie boards. We are a big fan of them ourselves (anyone remember our NYE cheese boards?) and love that we are a one stop shop for the perfect one: from the board, smoked meats, local cheeses, accents and beautiful bowls and serving spoons for all your favorite condiments. To build a cheese board, you need four central elements: cheese, protein (can be meat or nuts), crunch and extras. We'll break down how we put that together for the board you see above!
1. Cheeses: We chose a crowd favorite: black truffle cheddar from Jansal Valley and a soft, spreadable cheese: St. Stephen from Four Fat Fowl.
2. Protein: We LOVE New England Charcuterie and their amazing varieties of smoked meats. Here we have two different kinds of their hard salami which can easily be sliced into rounds and arranged beautifully on a board.
3. Crunch: Here at Nan's we have a variety of different crackers to choose from. For this board we decided to go with some Garlic Thyme Baked Crackers from Firehook and some classic Carr's Table Water Crackers.
4. Extras: Okay, this is the really fun part. You can spice up any board with these and add your own creative spin! We chose the incomparable Fig Spread from Divina (seriously, if you haven't tried fig jam on a cheese board. Please do it right now.) and some Red Pepper Stuffed Olives, also from Divina!
Of course, all these items are beautifully arranged on a Kind Goods charcuterie board. From start to finish, we have everything you need for the perfect spread.
