Nan’s Charcuterie Board Tips

Charcuterie Board

One thing that has taken off in popularity in the past few years is charcuterie boards. We are a big fan of them ourselves (anyone remember our NYE cheese boards?) and love that we are a one stop shop for the perfect one: from the board, smoked meats, local cheeses, accents and beautiful bowls and serving spoons for all your favorite condiments. To build a cheese board, you need four central elements: cheese, protein (can be meat or nuts), crunch and extras. We'll break down how we put that together for the board you see above!
1. Cheeses: We chose a crowd favorite: black truffle cheddar from Jansal Valley and a soft, spreadable cheese: St. Stephen from Four Fat Fowl.
2. Protein: We LOVE New England Charcuterie and their amazing varieties of smoked meats. Here we have two different kinds of their hard salami which can easily be sliced into rounds and arranged beautifully on a board.
3. Crunch: Here at Nan's we have a variety of different crackers to choose from. For this board we decided to go with some Garlic Thyme Baked Crackers from Firehook and some classic Carr's Table Water Crackers.
4. Extras: Okay, this is the really fun part. You can spice up any board with these and add your own creative spin! We chose the incomparable Fig Spread from Divina (seriously, if you haven't tried fig jam on a cheese board. Please do it right now.) and some Red Pepper Stuffed Olives, also from Divina!
Of course, all these items are beautifully arranged on a Kind Goods charcuterie board. From start to finish, we have everything you need for the perfect spread.

Solely Chili Mango Strips

Solely Chili Mango Strips

When we think summer, we think tropical fruit...and this is just the thing. Just three ingredients: mango, salt, and chili. This provides the perfect combination of sweet, heat and salt. Great for an on the go snack or to eat and pretend you're laying on a chaise in a tropical villa.

Kind Goods Restock

Kind Goods Cards

So...we want to live in the Kind Goods section of the store. It's like walking into a perfectly curated corner of a beautiful old farmhouse: oh wait, that's exactly what it is. Our newest favorites? These copper water bottles so you can hydrate in style, and some hand crafted greeting cards with messages so sweet you'll want to get one for all your favorite people! Michelle from Kind Goods is always coming in and dropping off new goodies, so keep checking back to find your next favorite thing.

Featured Menu Items:

Nectarine Lemonade

Nectarine Lemonade Bottle

The time has come. We are expanding our Liquid Sunshine to include new, seasonal flavors. First up: Nectarine Lemonade. Inspired by the rolling hills of New England covered in stone fruit trees at this time of year. This lemonade is infused with ripe nectarines that give it this gorgeous coral color and a fresh sweet taste that makes you realize: "Dang, this is good."

Açai Bowl

Açai Bowl

If you haven't tried an acai bowl, it should be next on your list. It feels like you're eating an ice cream sundae but it's the nutrient and fruit packed version. We start with a thicker (we add acai) version of our red smoothie and top it with an assortment of fresh fruits, coconut, housemade granola and a drizzle of honey. It's a refreshing summer breakfast you can enjoy all year round (make sure to order by 10:30 AM!)

Beverage of the Week:

Mingle Sparkling Mocktails

Mingle Sparkling Mocktail

Introducing Nan's non-alcoholic adult beverages! We have a few NA beers in the house and most recently got in a shipment of these bad boys: Mingle Sparkling Mocktails. Our favorite flavor? Cucumber Melon Mojito. This is refreshing, bright, and flavorful. Garnish with some mint leaves and a lime wedge and you've got the perfect mocktail for any occasion.
