Welcome back to the Nansletter

Hello, Nan fans! We hope you are all doing well after the wacky weather we've had over the past week and as students go back to school, pumpkin everything is rolling out and summer turns into fall...This is a weird time of year, don't you think? We're all ready for fall but clearly fall is not ready for us (temperatures are hanging around 80 degrees this week). We've decided to go back to basics and share some of our all time favorite retail and menu items with y'all. So...let's dive in!

Poppi Prebiotic Soda

Poppi Prebiotic soda (a social media star) has Instagrammable cans, delicious flavors and a myriad of health benefits provided by the apple cider vinegar they sneak into every can (don't worry, you won't be able to taste it!). Some benefits from apple cider vinegar include better digestion, improved skin, lower cholesterol and more. So basically, sign us up! Here at Nan's we have a few different flavors for you to try: the staff favorite Raspberry Rose, classic Strawberry Lemon and the refreshing Ginger Lime! Poppi is the soda that's good for your gut AND your Instagram feed- and it's simply delicious.

Late summer calls for sunset picnics, in our opinion. Come grab this divine olive wood set from Kind Goods, a few local meats and cheeses and some extra snacks (we've got plenty!) and you're good to go! We love being somewhere with a curated selection of local provisions- what else do y'all want to see?

Sweet Potatoes

Ahh...sweet potatoes, or as the Nan Fam likes to call them, "sweets." We could wax poetic about these babies for hours- and if you've talked to any of us behind the counter we probably have. They're crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, roasted simply with olive oil, honey, rosemary, lemon, shallots, salt and pepper! The flavors all come together to make one perfect bite. These are always a solid go to as a side or on a grain bowl!

Hush Puppies

We call these "puppies" in house (can you tell we love abbreviations?). Hush puppies, in case you're not familiar are small deep fried balls of dough made popular in the South. We do them our own way, with sweet corn, cheddar, buttermilk and extra love. Hush puppies are a true Nan's all-star- try them next time you do dinner with us!

Wines of the Week

Our in house sommelier has picked these bottles out! Read about them below:
1. Stamnaki, Assyrtiko: Assyrtiko is Greece's most popular white varietal. Crisp, clean, saline and mineral, this expression is a little juicier and fruitier than most. Charred lemon, melon and hints of vanilla and ocean breeze make this a perfect beach white. Enjoy with a platter of grilled octopus and shrimp with a squirt of lemon.
2. Yalumba, "Y Series", Viognier: This sun-kissed Viognier from Yalumba in Southern Australia exudes aromas of honeysuckle and orange blossom water with fresh pineapple on the palate. A textured, rounded and exotic white that will please even the strictly-red drinkers at the party.
3. Garalis, "Roseus": Limnio and Muscat of Alexandria might be the power couple for Rose. Limnio delivers super juicy watermelon, while Muscat brings heaps of white flowers and white grape. This is the spirit of summer in a bottle.
